Moreland for Kansas
I'm Taylor Moreland, a lifelong Kansan running to represent House District 7 because I believe public service should be about people, not politics.
Born and raised in Parsons, I've dedicated my life to serving others and strengthening the communities that raised me. I began working the day I turned 16 and have spent nearly my entire career helping people through some of life's greatest challenges. My experience includes working as a caregiver in nursing homes, including an Alzheimer's care unit, serving as a personal paraprofessional for children with autism, and building seven years of experience in business management.
I earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Legal Issues and a minor in Law Enforcement and Public Policy. My education focused on understanding the root causes of crime, developing innovative approaches to crime prevention, and promoting accountability and effectiveness within both the justice system and law enforcement. I believe government works best when it combines compassion, common sense, and accountability.
My commitment to service extends beyond my professional career. I founded a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing civic engagement while assisting victims of domestic violence, supporting individuals experiencing homelessness, and helping prevent substance abuse while supporting recovery efforts. In our first year alone, we secured $16,200 in grant funding to invest directly into making our communities safer and stronger.
Today, I work in a foster care group home for boys, where I witness firsthand both the resilience of young people and the challenges facing Kansas families. This experience has shown me how often our systems fail the very people they are intended to help. I believe Kansas must do a better job ensuring accountability, transparency, and oversight within our child welfare system so that children and families receive the support they deserve.
My priorities are straightforward: strengthening rural communities, supporting Kansas farmers and small businesses, increasing transparency and accountability in government, improving public safety, and reforming our foster care and justice systems through practical, evidence-based solutions.
This campaign is about restoring trust in public service, listening to the people of Southeast Kansas, and delivering results. Regardless of political party or background, every Kansan deserves a representative who will work hard, remain accessible, and put the needs of the community first.

What I Bring To The Table
Determination. Experience. Passion.
I bring determination to protect our communities, experience confronting failed government systems, and a passion for Kansas values. My background in psychology with a legal emphasis and minor in public policy gives me a practical understanding of crime, accountability, and family stability. I support stricter parole and bond conditions for violent offenders, real foster care reform that puts children, not contractors, first, and policies that protect local farmers and Kansas agriculture.
